A collective reading and broadcast at Unter dem Motto
Saturday 4 September 2010
Unter dem Motto, Berlin
At regular intervals throughout the afternoon on Saturday 4 September 2010, friends and passers-by read passages from Eva Weinmayr’s play (pause), then recently published by Occasional Papers. The collective reading – in the Chino room at Motto, and broadcast live in the courtyard between Motto and Chert – formed part of a series of interventions by Weinmayr around the (temporary?) disappearance of the English art collective Art in Ruins. To date, the series included the film ‘I Wonder What the Silence Was About’ (concurrently presented at ‘MISSREAD’, KW Institute for Contemporary Art) and the publication Art in Ruins and Unknown Stranger (also published by Occasional Papers).
With thanks to Annette Lux, Courtenay Webber, Alan Woo, Jerlyn Jareunpoon, James McKinnon, Jan Middendorp, Katja Gretzinger, Anne Kersten, Simone Neuenschwander, Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez, Jorn Ebner, Anita di Bianco, Micha Nasoetion, Anna Sartorius, Rachel Lee, Beate Andres, Emma Edmondson, Celine Duval, Michalis Pichler, and many more.
During Unter dem Motto Occasional Papers also organised the exhibition Body Event: Language as a Flawed Medium by David Toop, as well as the talk by Antony Hudek and film screening of the LUX dvd of John Latham’s films from 1960 to 1971. Both took place at Pro qm bookshop
